- Heritage Stone can be fixed to most materials that are cement based, e.g. fibre cement sheet, concrete block, concrete, bricks and various lightweight concretes.
- All surfaces must be clean and dry.
- Any paint must be removed and walls cleaned back to the base material. If a primer is required use Bondplus mixed 50/50 with water.
- To attach to the substrate use Bondplus diluted with 2 parts water and mixed with Heritage Stone adhesive mortar. (5 litres liquid per 20kg bag)
- To lay stones put corner stones on first. Simply apply sufficient mortar to the back of the stone with a trowel and press firmly onto the wall.
- Stones can be cut with any masonry blade attached to a drill, skill saw, angle grinder, bench saw, etc. Please observe safe operating procedures.
- Once corner stones are in place, fill the spaces inbetween with flat stones. It may be helpful to mark the wall with a chalk line to help with straight and level placement of the stones.
- Once the mortar starts to set/go off you can brush off any mortar or grout that may have accidentally got on to the stones.
